My new magic mouse will not right click null

Check the settings for the mouse on your computer. There’s lots of features that you have to enable.

You probably need to go to System Preferences > Mouse and ensure the box for Secondary Click is checked.

If you click near the top right side of the Magic Mouse it *should* function as a "right click"

It works fine. Check your setting in your Mac’s mouse’s.
