• A:Answer There are 2 different magsafe chargers for the macbook the older models use the first and if that doesnt work or fit its because you have a newer model and requires the magsafe2 charger which is what the adapter is used for (making the Mag1 into a Mag2). And its only 10 dollars compared to the 30 or 70+ dollars it costs for the seperate charger.

• A:Answer Do you mean charging with a battery source, not an outlet? If you have an older Apple power adapter, this should allow it to connect to your MacBook using an outlet. You can look up your laptop on Apple's website to see a listing of it's power adapter type and then search to see what alternative power sources are compatible.
