• The iPad Air 2 does not support pencil usage. The reasoning behind this is because the screen doesn't have the sensors that are needed in order for any of the pencils to be compatible with it. This iPad, released in 2014, was released one year prior to the apple pencil first gen's release, hence the lack of support for either pencil. Hopefully this helped!

• They all do. Including non-Apple styli. I returned my Apple Pencil when I realized that my Wacom pencil, which I bought years ago for sketching on an older iPad, worked perfectly and fit my hand better. All I’m saying is, you don’t have to feel locked into a particular stylus. Try it out and see what works best for you. Good luck.
