• Pre-owned means used, yes. Refurbished means it's either been used or returned unused. But, Apple Certified Technician made sure everything work as it suppose to. Usually comes with warranty directly from Apple or by the refurbisher (BestBuy Geek in this case).

• Preowned would definitely be used open box would be used but they sell brand new in the box unlocked phones at Best Buy
