A:Answer What kind of smudges? Like finger prints? Going into my purchase of 4 of these devices, I wasn’t expecting pristine phones. However, I would expect Best Buy refurbs to be pretty close to pristine. I had some black smudges around the sides. Not sure what they were. But I was able to wipe them off easily with an alcohol pad. My dad’s XR had the tiniest of scratches on the screen but is unnoticeable after placing a glass screen protector on top. For the price and ease of data transfer, as well as, not needing to have VZW activate these phones saved me enough money! Hope this helps.
