Can this iPad receive software updates? null

Yes why wouldn’t it? Why would anyone get an iPad that you can’t update ?? Please think about the questions before asking them.

Id opt for ipad mini 4 if your worried about updates... My mom still gets updates on ipad mini 4 periodically but as a whole the software is kind of choppy and shows its age. Personally if you have the funds id go for a 1st or 2nd gen iPad Pro because they will be supported for years and can be found at a discount. If you want the smaller form opt for ipad mini 5.
