Yes it is both 5 Watts and 5 Volts (1.0 amp). It is also a smart charger that will automatically convert 110 volt or 220 volt input to those figures. Here is a good discussion on these chargers. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3511

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is a 5W USB power adapter intended for use only with a standard US electrical outlet. Voltage describes the electrical charge within the wiring in the walls and is not the same as the power source (battery) within the phone. The difference is the REASON WHY an adapter is needed! Without an adapter to convert the electrical charge, connecting a smartphone (and virtually any item that uses electricity) directly into a wall outlet would seriously damage or even destroy it! This is also why power surge devices are available, as sudden changes in voltage (as from lightning strikes) can damage or destroy even large appliances! If an appropriate adapter is used, there is no reason to worry about voltage(s) as the maker of the adapter has done it for you!
