My wife has a series 2 and I have a series 3 without the LTE option. While the series 3 and 2 battery is the same capacity. the series 3 watch has new more power efficient S3 and W2 chips. Those chips were put in all series 3 watches to allow the series 3 watch to handle the cellular connectivity without a reduction in battery life compared to the series 2. Now the bonus is that the series 3 watch model with GPS only, now has the advantage since without the cellular radio, it is now using less power than the series 3 with LTE and also the series 2 watch. In our case she requires a daily charge while my series 3 only needs a charge once every other day. That along with a faster dual core processor was my reasoning for waiting to buy the 3 over the 2.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They both have batteries rated at 18 milliampere hours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The battery life will vary a lot depending on usage, I normally charge mine every other night before bed but it usually still has 50% battery when I do, so maybe 3.5-4 days total if you aren't doing much with it, but if you use it for phone calls you'll get less.
