Only advantage is you can leave your phone at home and just use your watch to make calls. I always have my iPhone on me so it doesn't really benefit me having cellular connection on my watch.. You can also access apple music through it without your iPhone I believe.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The watch with an active cellular connection continues to work as if the phone is nearby even when it is not through the cellular network. For example, when going for a run without your phone and just your watch which has an active cellular connection (about $10 per month as an adder to your cellular plan typically) you can receive and make telephone calls, received and send texts, iMessages, use your apps that need an internet connection etc. Also, your watch's location can be found via Find My Phone all as long as there is cellular service even if the phone is not available or is disabled.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need to have your IPhone with you in order for your IWatch to collect information. The information comes from the cell towers. If you decide to go cellular, you will be charged $10.00 per month for this service. (I think it is for a 2 year plan). The watch will pick up any wi-fi signal within range without having to pay for cellular.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not having to carry your cell phone around with you. You can take the calls from your watch and text from it using voice command or using your finger to spell out words.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you can use it like a phone. It has it own sim in it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The single advantage I can find is the ability to go running with full access to Apple Music and the ability to make or receive calls and not bring your phone. Mind you, that is a huge advantage if you run or hike a lot. Otherwise save money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased the Series 1 and cellular wasn’t available then, but when it was time to get the Apple Watch 4 I had a choice, I still decided to save the money and get the gps model. I always have my phone with me and doing so allows me to make and receive calls on my watch. For a year and a half, I’ve rarley, if ever had my watch without my phone nearby. Why waste the money on the extra cost for cellular feature and the monthly costs to maybe need to make a call hear and there when your phone isn’t near? Unless you run or go to the gym and don’t want the extra hastle of having two devices (and that’s only for phone calls). Other than that, you can use your watch for everything else when you’re working out, music, tracking working out l, time of day, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The biggest advantage to the cellular model is that you can use it without having your phone with you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Also expect to pay an extra fee to your mobile company to use it with cellular as well. I am with T-Mobile and it's a $10 a month fee to use the data on whatever plan you have on your cell phone. Unless you plan on using your watch away from your phone often, I think cellular is a waste of money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can talk on the watch just like Dick Tracy. You just need to add the watch to a cellular plan.
