I forgot to say, the existing transformer could be broken, test it with a multimeter to see if it's giving out power or check if it's on it's own fuse if the electrics are old. You can also test the wiring with a multimeter. It would work out much cheaper to simply buy a new transformer.

So as long as you always have your phone with you, you will hear a chime and don't need to buy the separate chime. As that is not the case with me, I also bought the chime 2. It works well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the dual set with the Arlo Essential Wireless Doorbell and the Chine 2. Here in the UK the package is around £170, it's much cheaper than buying them separately. You don't necessarily need the Chime as you get notifications eg. Using Google Home app to set it up and get them to your phone. We have a couple of Google Nest Hubs so get it that way. The Chime is handy especially eg. Of you're on the toilet and don't have your phone to hand. The Chime has many different settings. I hope that is helpful to you ?
