It does not automatically record 24/7, however, the Arlo Pro 4 does have the option to continuously record called CVR.

Please try again later.Yes, once you onboard each camera, you’ll get a free 3 month trial with all the features including recorded footage that will be saved to the Arlo Cloud for 30 days. After your 3 month trial period ends, they will stop recording, but you’ll still have access to these features, motion detection, 2-way audio, color night vision, 2K live streaming, and the built in siren. So you have two options. Option 1: Purchase an Arlo subscription plan and get all the extra features plus recorded footage to the cloud. Or Option 2: Purchase an Arlo SmartHub/Base Station and store your recordings for free to a MicroSD card or USB flash drive up to 2TB with a minimum of 16GB. Ultra SmartHub VMB5000 is better, and uses a MicroSD card that slide into the bottom of the hub. Then just follow the steps in the Arlo app. Smarthub VMB4540 uses a USB Flash drive that plugs into the back of the hub, which must be formatted to FAT23 before you can record. If you have any connection issues I can almost guarantee it’s your internet connection. When I install them, I connect all devices to the eero Pro6E but a standard eero will do. If you have trouble receiving notifications, check the Arlo app to and run a motion test, and check your mobile device notifications to make sure you have notifications turned on. If you log out of the app you won’t receive notifications. Also, on a side note, if you share access to your cameras with someone else, the other person will be automatically logged out for privacy concerns. Only one person can view the cameras at a time.
