- Answer Hello - the download speeds listed for that modem are the maximum theoretical speeds. There are numerous factors that affect your speeds, including which plan you subscribe to. That being said, if you require Xfinity digital voice service and are looking for built-in Wi-Fi this is the lowest tier model we have available with those features.

- Answer This product does not have band steering, therefore which frequency spectrum each device is connected to is determined by the client device, not the router.

QuestionI have comcast 1.2g service and I can't get the modem to top more than 400mb speed. Comcast came to the house and couldn't make it faster. They said it only goes to 400.

- Answer Hi Dave, What Comcast told you is correct. This is an older model that does not support the Gig speed service tiers. If you require a modem that has digital voice ports, the T25 will support up to 1 Gbps. If you do not require digital voice, the S33 cable modem and the G36 Wi-Fi cable modem are capable of 1.2 Gbps. Hope this helps.

- Answer Mine didn’t. Optimum told me it wasn’t compatible and I need to return mine to get a different one. You can call optimum and tell them you want to know which models are compatible with your service and they’ll give you a list.

- Answer Yes. You should double check with your cable company but I just installed this with Comcast Xfinity and it works fine without voice. FYI there are modems without voice support which are usually cheaper. Comcast has a website of all supported modems.
