Yeah the major difference in SB6190 and SB6183 is that SB6190 has 32x8 channel bonding whereas SB6183 has 16x4 cable bonding. This means SB6190 will be compatible to work with speed tiers of upto 600 Mbps whereas SB6183 will be compatible to work with speed tiers of upto 300 Mbps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The difference is how many frequencies the modem can use to lock onto. For lower Internet plans or for a small regional cable company not offering speeds of more than say, 200mb, the 6183 is ok. But if you are an xfinity, Cox, spectrum etc customer who offer higher speeds than 200mb, go with the 6190, which i would recommend either way over the 16x4 modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not a modem expert, but I had an eight year old modem, I bought the 6190 and started to notice a big difference. I would probably have gotten the SB8200, but it was not available at the store and I needed wifi help asap.
