Yes, this is a modem/router combo.

The G54 is a combination of a cable modem and a Wi-Fi router.

It is a modem/router/wifi 7 combination. In my case, I am using it in bridge mode, which is only the cable modem. This is because I have a Firewalla Gold router/firewall and already have a wifi 6 orbi mesh network. In this mode, it is an expensive cable modem -- but xFinity is really picky about approved modems for the 200MB uplink, and this is one of the few modems xFInity supports for full speed.

You can't use it for a landline
