I just bought one of these yesterday. Neither answer above is right, but this 14" ASUS model E410K has something MUCH better. Right inside the bottom cover is a slot for an m.2 NVMe solid state drive. And it works great! And their specs on BestBuy's site and most other sites don't say a word about it! Here's what I mean. First, the 4 gb DDR4 RAM chip is soldered onto the main board, and it cannot be upgraded. As with all ultra-budget laptops, the RAM is barely enough to boot into Windows, and even opening a browser tab or two slows it to a crawl. Next, the 64 GB eMMC storage drive is equally pitiful, particularly as all but a dozen gb or so is taken up by Windows itself. These are standard specs for this class of machine, but at least the E410K has the bonus of ASUS build quality to sweeten the deal, and a lower price than most competitors'. But what a hidden gem inside. The internal m.2 slot takes an NVMe storage drive that's unbelievably fast and spacious for this price. I bought this $130 laptop at Best Buy yesterday and went straight back to the store today to get a 1-terabyte NVMe drive, Samsung's 990 EVO, for a princely $80 more. YouTube videos show how easy that is to put it into this model laptop and set up - under 10 minutes. Look for titles like "Asus E410M NVMe Upgrade / Install" and "ASUS E410 SSD UPGRADE, STEP By STEP". So not only does the 1 tb Samsung NVMe have all that wonderful storage space, it's also freaky fast -- 10 times the speed of the internal eMMC according to benchmarks I just ran. That's so fast that an ordinary Windows swap file can get you all the usable virtual memory you could ask for on top of that 4 gb RAM. I've set my swap file on the NVMe to 16 gb, but it could be any amount. And don't even get me started on Windows 11 Home, a year of Office 365, and the other goodies under the hood here. Buy it. Now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you AsusHigh for your great secret NVMe powerboost! I grabbed 2 of these for $109.99 Deal of the Day during Florida's Back to School TAX-FREE Week. Like you say, you can't buy the OpSys Win11 for this price! Carry on..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can always upgrade the RAM. As far as more storage, pick up a 4 terabyte USB drive and use it for your data. It will not only give you bigger storage, but it is portable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the memory(RAM) and storage(SSD) are upgradeable.
