A:Answer I believe the body is made out of aluminum or an aluminum composite. Other laptops made of plastic or thin aluminum sheet will flex, especially the screen support assembly. It has an SSD and doesn't have a hard drive or a DVD. When I was unpacking from it's packing box, I was very surprised that that it weighed as much as it did. I'm not going to "drop test" it, but my bet is that it is bomb proof. Because the beautiful Samsung Amaloid screen is metal mounted, there is no flex, and I do a lot of Photoshop. I have built many desktop systems boxes with ASUS mother boards, and never had a problem with any of them. This led me to look at the ASUS laptop and it was not to disappoint. There is no comparison with the HP Envy, which it replaced. I have added a USB-C WD Passport 2tb outboard hard drive with with background running, programmable recovery software and made it bootable, just in case.
