A:Answer Yes, you can most definitely use this monitor for an online discussion class. I am currently using this monitor as my main monitor or monitor 1. I have a dual monitor setup but use this monitor as my main monitor. It works well for online discussions and hyper-tasking when working with multiple software, tasks, assignments, applications. The only downside is that the built-in speaker feature is of low quality. Even with the speakers set to 100 (max), it can be very low when listening to certain webinars. Recommendation is to use a headset with microphone so that it blocks the outside noise prevention and you have better volume quality to hear. I also use it for skype and other online discussions with a headset. I hope this helps.
