Look inside your Motherboard and see if the picture of the slot resembles the one in your motherboard.

Please try again later.A PCI slot is usually closer to the edge then a PCIe slot.There are 3 types of PCIe slots: a very short one about an inch or so long (PCIE x1), a second one around 2-3 inches long (PCIe x4) and the longest one about four inches long (PCIe x16). The longest PCIe and the PCI slots are similar in length. Most boards the PCIe slot has a locking device at the end furthest from the edge, near the middle of the board. Color coding is not useful since different boards have different colored slots. If you have the manual for your board, it will tell you what slots you have. You can also try to find it online. A lot of manufacturers have the information through their support page.
