It is -NOT- a cable modem. Only a router to connect multiple devices to both wired and wireless. ARRIS makes several modem-router combinations. You will need a separate modem, or one supplied by your ISP for this to work. I have a ARRIS Surfboard SB6190 Paired with my Asus Blue Cave.

To install and connect the Blue Cave router, you have to download a phone application. This part was easy, but after that it was too complicated. Basically, this router is for multiple household users. I have Northland internet service and stream TV through You Tube TV. I dont know about other cable companies. However, the Best Buy associate sold me an expensive, unnecessary product for a one person household.

It was easy to install and has a smartphone app to configure your desired settings. I bought two of them to create a mesh system for more wireless coverage in my home. It also offers Trend Micro anti malware protection built right into the firmware in the router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is a router and it is very easy to set up with your modem provided by Spectrum as your access point for your other devices for internet access.. But it does not have a built in modem, so you can not use it as a gateway if thats what you mean...you will still need the gateway provided by your carrier be it Spectrum or otherwise.
