Oh it doesn't void the warranty either companies finally are understanding the need to upgrade. However if they find damage was caused by the upgrade either part or error it does at that point void the warranty. Be careful it's super easy just make sure you're grounded and the battery cable is unplugged it lifts up by the way don't pull just gently lift a corner with a credit card or other firm thin plastic tool.

It supports optane as well if that's the rough you wanna go. There isn't any way to a 2.5in ssd or hdd just an m.2
