• Yes, you can connect the XG mobile and still just play on the Ally screen itself, or use the Ally controls and use an external monitor. Downside to this use case is how short the XG mobile connector is. Not a lot of space to move once connected.

• You are literally powering up the Ally with this. However, in my opinion I think that an external monitor is going to be a MUCH better experience for you as opposed to the small screen with this. Enjoy!
