The dell only has a 60hz screen, this one has a 120hz screen. The asus is also wayyy slimmer and the metal finish around the entire case looks so much better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't recommend the G7 if you can spare the extra $200 to get the Asus. The screen is not great in the G7 and I saw reviews that state the plastic brackets break when you remove the bottom panel to access the internals. If you're trying to stay in the 1199 budget go for the Acer Predator Helios 300 for the same price and its a beast of a laptop.

Rgb keyboard instead of blue only. 120hz vz 60 hz, loud speakers, much thinner laptop. Aluminum top and aluminum keyboard deck, much more premium than i was expecting. Also 1060 gtx instead of 1060 max-q on the dell. Basically a cheaper asus zepherus. This asus is Top notch for price / quality and performance Where dell g7 you get the most performance for your money, the build quality is underwhelming. Also looked at the msi but it was 200 more with about the same or worse build quality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was looking at that same laptop as well. I made some basic research. The Dell screen has a refresh rate of 60Hz, Asus have 120Hz. The Dell 1060 is Max-Q which is like a tad slower version of 1060 that Asus have. Dell i7 is 7700 and ASUS i7 is 8750. I think that's where most of the price difference goes. I ordered online the Dell but ended up getting the ASUS GU501G and happy about that decision.
