QuestionNo mux switch means around a 15% loss in gaming average fps when not connected to external monitor correct? So this is a pass for me if I don't intend to use an external monitor?

- Answer The percentage you mention really only applies to esports games. The difference gets much smaller with more GPU demanding titles. Ultra settings in a AAA with the 2K screen, you’re talking about only a handful of FPS, basically negligible.

QuestionIs it still going to be liquid metal for the CPU cooling? Also, will you be able to change to DISCRETE only graphics in the motherboard BIOS to bypass CPU graphics?

- Answer Yes, CPU has liquid metal cooling and so does the GPU. No, u can't do that directly as it doesn't have a mux switch. But connecting to an external monitor will allow direct access to the dedicated GPU.

QuestionHey ASUS, Will the HDMI port bypass the igpu? Or is the type C/DP port required to bypass it (also finding a DP to Type C cable is kind of hard, is this a normal cable or is one included)? I know this laptop has no MUX switch, will HDMI work to bypass?

- Answer Various reviews from what Ive seen have said that the HDMI port does not connect directly to the dedicated GPU, but the USB-C (DP 1.4 spec) does.

- Answer It supports up to 2 x 32gb 3200mhz laptop ram, I am pretty sure it only has two ram slots, so you have to use two 32 gb strips, it will not go higher than a total of 64gb though, because that’s all the ryzen 9 5980hx allows.

- Answer I believe the answer to that would be yes. But they will probably charge a fee. Its actually pretty simple to upgrade the RAM and storage on the ROG Strix G15. I did it for mine. Just remove the screws from the bottom of the panel (there are 11 of them). Carefully remove the panel, don't force it open. Be careful when removing it since the light bar is connected to the motherboard. Once removed you will see 2 black heat pads. The memory is underneath. The SSD is located to the left of that. For the memory just make sure you buy DDR4-3200MHz (thats the memory for the Ryzen 9 5900HX). You can also watch several videos on YouTube showing how to do it. Hope this helps.

QuestionCan a Gen 4 2 tb nvme be install? What about 4tb gen 3 nvme? Is replacing the original nvme a good idea? Reinstall the window os on 2 new nvme drive?

- Answer Its highly recommended to upgrade the SSD. Gen 4 will work, but if its cheaper, just get a gen 3, as youll only see gen 3 speeds if you use a gen 4. This laptpp supports up to 4Tb of storage

- Answer If you recently bought it, then it comes with Windows 11. Unfortunately you will not be able to downgrade to Windows 10 using the same key. Microsoft does not like when you downgrade to a lower version of Windows. If you really want to use Windows 10, you will need to purchase a new key.

- Answer Hi! The Ryzen 9 Fifth Gen will only accept DDR4 at 3200MHz. If it ends up being a misprint again (The initial price tag for this laptop was 1550, Best Buy has since changed that back to 1650) then it's still unclear, as the Ryzen 9 6th gen can have DDR5 RAM and it is unstated what MHz is supported on the website. - Answer It is not a MAJOR problem, but it is about an 8% problem. Yes, it is still a lottery. Look for serial number starting in N. that will be 2022 version. 3 types of ram for this, Samsung 1rx16, Hynix 1rx16 (but! fast secondary timings, was it an error on the sticker on the RAM /shrug), and Samsung 1rx8. Keep in mind, even other brands are doing this lottery of ram.

- Answer Try to update the wireless card driver first. I had the same problem and updated the driver and now it is perfect and very fast!
