This will be a max-Q according to the asus website, with 80w on tap and 20w available via dynamic boost.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to nvidia, discrete mobile GPUs will no longer be disclosed as being either Max P or Max Q. Manufacturers will be able to enable different boost clocks and max TDP across both Q and P variants which means that now it's theoretically possible to get a 3060 Max Q with TDP and boost clocks higher than that of a 3080 Max P. It all depends on how the manufacturer decides to implement their clock and power limits. Asus has chosen not to disclose that information for these laptops yet, so the answer is "we don't know".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nvidia got rid of the Max Q naming, so i highly suggest everyone to wait for reviews, as this time, it’s all about power limit. A 3060 with a higher power limit than a 3070 would outperform it, and you save money. Don’t preorder until Best Buy clarifies and lists the power output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I dont think anyone knows for sure yet. Some say max-q, some say max-p. It's split across the community and media outlets. They say 80w but thats for the 3080. It's entirely possible they use max-q for the 3080 and max-p for 3070 and below like their S15 lineup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Going by TechPowerUp's GPU Database this will be a 3070 Max Q with 90w TDP The 3070 Max Q series come in 3 power Power Envelops (Up to Laptop manufacturer?) GeForce RTX 3070 Max-Q 80W = 780-1290 MHz GeForce RTX 3070 Max-Q 85W = 855-1365 MHz GeForce RTX 3070 Max-Q 90W = 930-1410 MHz I've seen the above confirmed in multiple places. Uncertain about below: From here, using GPU Boost 2.0 (name?) the OEM can allow for addition ~15-20w to the Laptop GPU (3000 series) if thermals are in line for GPU/CPU/VRAM. Cliffs: All in all it should be a fast 3070 Max Q (90w) in this Asus Laptop, but it won't be on par with the non Max Q varients (up to 125w). Desktop equivalent looks to be 2070 - 3070 Max Q (90W) - 2070 Super
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I spoke to a Asus Rep and he told me it will be 80w unfortunatly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On the asus website the 3070 is 80 watts and 100 watts with dynamic boost. link here https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses 80w and boosts to 100w. Nvidia settings do show it is a max q variant.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s neither, it’s the 3070 Laptop Edition.
