A:AnswerIf you’re wanting cooler, consider the 2024 Zephyrus G14 AMD versus 2024 G16 Intel models. Both are thinner and cooler and both have OLED screens. G14 is limited to 4060 vs 4070 in 2024 while G16 can go to higher Nvidia dGPUs (bigger so room for better cooling solution for both bigger GPUs and hotter Intel CPUs). In general the 2024 G14s are cooler than the 2024 G16s. Beware though that Best Buy screwed up and only ordered their 2024 4060 model with 16 GB RAM (instead of 32 GB RAM coming with 2024 4070 model). So on G14 2024 models yer stuck forever at 16 GB for 4060 one and 32 GB for 4070 one. So personally, I’d prefer the 2023 G14 4060 upgraded to 48 GB over the 2024 G14 4060 stuck forever at 16 GB (albeit with the nicer OLED screen).
A:AnswerWhen unplugged the fans default to being off as long as you’re not doing anything intensive like gaming or editing. So pretty quiet. You can also change some settings in the armory crate app so it stays silent when unplugged.
There is a boot up sound like a sword unsheathing which is weird when I’m in class and turn it on. Not sure how to turn it off yet, might be a setting in the BIOS.
A:AnswerYes but do keep in mind this model doesnt support pass-through charging on usb-c, meaning the battery will drain simoultaneously. Its also not optimal to run games/high performance tasks on usb-c as well because the laptop wont get enough power. Its good for travel and quick charges but I wouldnt reccomend using it as a main source of power
A:AnswerOK, so Asus didn't actually answer the question as posed.
The 4070 model is GA402XI-G14.R94070 and is not the same as this 4060 model, which is GA402XV-G14.R94060. Neither of these is a mini-led model, these are both IPS screens. It appears that only the top-end model with the laptop 4090 in it has the mini-led screen.
Also, it's not completely clear about a couple other questions re this 4060-containing model. It does appear that they continued to skimp on the SSD this year (like last year) with only 512 GB not 1 TB. And Best Buy's description says that on this 4060-containing model they also skimped (in my opinion) by putting only an 8 GB of soldered RAM plus a wasted 8 GB stick that you have to throw away when (most people) upgrade the memory. Now, Asus appears to have fixed this bad decision in this year's version of the 4070-containing (and higher) models. So what seems odd to me, is why wouldn't they fix this obvious Asus mistake across the board? Or, maybe equally likely, they did fix it but Best Buy messed up on the documentation. Maybe somebody who actually bought the 4060 model can open it up and answer the latter question based on fact, as opposed to guesswork, lol. Another open question is, does this 4060 model have a USB4 jack on it. All the other models (with the possible exception of a very-low model with a 7035 class CPU, which I don't even know if Best Buy sells) do have a USB4 40-gigabit jack on them - and the 7940HS CPU definitely supports USB 4. Yet this lower level model (in Best Buy's description) states the same jacks as last year's models had. So again, this is either a Best Buy typo or else maybe an explicit decision by Asus to put less functionality in the lower-priced entry-level models. We can't rule out the latter, I suppose, cuz maybe they had some left-over 2022 chassis to use up? Again, can a real purchaser of this specific model fill us in?

A:AnswerMotherboard issues are common on these Laptops, I myself had to get the motherboard fixed as well. But that seems to be a software/configuration issue.
A:AnswerAs long as your computer meets the minimum specs for Valve Index/VR games it will be compatible (Different VR games require different specs). This Laptop has been able to run every PCVR games I have without any issues.
