Yes there is some flicker with all OLED displays (called PWM) but ASUS offsets that with some of the software built in. However, as you reduce brightness, that software is no longer effective and it warns you that it is no longer active. However, I am extremely sensitive to flicker and I have never noticed any even at about 20% brightness, so it hasn't been an issue for me.
