The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (FA608WI) is upgradable to 2TB of storage. The laptop comes with two SSD M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 slots.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I looked at the specs online (sometimes more accurate than BB specs, and I think so in this case), and learned there is an empty 2nd M.2 slot available for another SSD. It is only Gen 4 x 2 lanes not 4 x 4 lanes like the system drive tho, so half the bandwidth. Thus, buy a 4 Terabyte SSD for the 2nd slot, but you need not buy the el primo Samsung model or even the very good Seagate 850 model, since 4 x 2 may chop the transfer rate. Wait for a sale on a decent 4 TB SSD for the 2nd slot. For sure don’t get a Gen 5 SSD. It may even take an 8 TB SSD, you’ld have to research that. If you need more gaming storage than that, buy an external USB-4 (or Thunderbolt 3 or higher) 8 GB SSD since this laptop has USB 4 on it that can access at 40 gigabits/sec. Recent results for Macbook Pros show they can access the fastest external SSDs almost as fast as internal ones (and the Ryzen AI 370 CPU is alost as fast as the M4 Pro so same principle should apply). For more than 8 TB external, you can always resort to bigger but slower and cheaper spinning rust.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can definitely upgrade the storage to 2TB
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This laptop comes with a second M.2 slot, so yes you can expand the storage. Note that the ASUS website says "Due to available lanes, the second SSD slot is limited to PCIe Gen 4x2 speed."
