Yes, battery can be removed. 5 screws and take it out. Before you do ANY upgrades inside, I HIGHLY recommend disconnecting the battery before doing so. There are metal shields over the upgradeable parts and it's easy to accidentally touch something can cause damage. If the battery is connected, there is power running through some of the parts. DISCONNECT FIRST!
