My unit arrived yesterday (2/3/2022) with Windows 11 'S' installed. S is the more limited version of Windows, allowing only apps in the Microsoft Store (and only Edge as the browser). It is easy (and free) to switch back to the full Windows 11, which will allow you to use Edge to download any other browser you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Let me clarify two points on this: 1) There IS a lot of big, bad software out there. If you've never encountered a popup in your entire computing life, and never made the mistake of popping on that link that told you your Flash was out of date, or you needed to update your Firefox/Chrome, etc., then you are ahead of many people who have had that particular misfortune. 2) You CAN go back to S Mode. The only difference is that while going OUT of S Mode is non-destructive (it just gives you additional options in software), the only way to go back INTO S Mode is to perform a reset and restore the PC to it's factory settings, something you would probably only do if you were selling or giving the machine to someone else, or if you have major system problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with Microsoft Edge. Also, note that it comes set for Windows 11S (that's 'S' mode), which allows only software from the Windows store. They say that's for your safety (from all the big, bad software out there), so if you remain in S mode, you can't download Chrome, Firefox, etc.. It is not hard to switch back to Windows 11 (non-S). Note that if you do that, you can't go back to 'S' mode. Once you've left 'S' mode, you can download other browsers (using Edge, at least for the first one). I've heard some tech pundits say that the Number 1 use for Microsoft Edge is to download Chrome. BTW, I'm on my new ASUS, answering this message using Chrome.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The question is not WHAT the internet browsers are, but WHICH ones Microsoft is forcing you to use.
