A:AnswerYes it can be upgraded. I upgraded mine to 40GB with a 32GB from Crucial.com and it works great! There is also a second slot for a M.2 drive, I added a 2TB also from Crucial.
A:AnswerI bought the same laptop 2 days ago. Mine starts up in seconds. You may want to take it to where you got it, and have them look at it. I'm very happy with mine.
A:AnswerI just purchased this laptop last week from Best Buy, it has the RTX 3050 and a 60hz refresh rate. In my honest opinion- wait until Best Buy has the version with the RTX 4060 available.
A:AnswerFIX: I also had the same 3-hour battery life problem out-of-the-box doing simple web browsing and emails. I spent an hour on the phone with Geek Squad troubleshooting, but they were of no help.
Currently, I am able to pull about 9 Hours, 45 Minutes on a full charge.
Here is how I fixed it:
1. Updated to the latest Windows 11 24H2 build, as this contains enhanced power management features and improved battery life fixes that previously were unavailable on older Windows 11 builds
2. Flashed the latest ASUS Vivobook Pro BIOS v309 (must do this from the MyASUS app under "System Update")
3. Installed the latest Nvidia notebook graphics driver, along with the latest Intel Arc iGPU driver from Intel Support Assistant (Intel's website - Support - Auto update your drivers)
Now for the fun part (OS setting changes):
1. Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Power Options - Change Plan Settings - Change Advanced Power Settings
*Look for "Processor Power Management" -> "Maximum Processor State" and toggle the battery mode to never exceed 90% CPU usage (barely noticeable performance change, but huge battery life gains)
2. Update your MyASUS app to the latest version (if it didn't already auto update)
3. From within MyASUS, select "Device Settings" in the left hand side bar (under "Home")
Specifically change these settings:
Battery Care Mode = OFF (allow the battery to reach 100% charge to utilize full day's worth of charge). Sure, the battery will need to be replaced within 4 years doing this, but would you prefer to suffer for 4 years using a laptop that always dies early before you're even off work at 5pm?
Fan Profile = STANDARD MODE
GPU Mode = OPTIMIZED
AI Noise-Canceling Microphone = OFF
AI Noise-Canceling Speaker = OFF
Target Mode = ON (optional, will improve battery life, but buggy). Some Intel Arc drivers don't completely understand that the window you have up is indeed being viewed and needs to remain OLED-lit
After doing all of these steps, your battery life should triple, if not quadruple, while maintaining incredible battery-mode performance (gaming should be done via AC power, you can leverage Nvidia discrete graphics vs. iGPU only).
