- Answer This phone will work with just a phone jack. However, the special features such as the answering machine does require a power connection.

QuestionIs there an open space in the very center rear there the phone connection wire can be inserted into to sit flush against the wall?

- Answer There is an opening in the rear. Mounting would have to be done by pulling the top portion of the back down in order to make it level. The cord hooks into the TOP of the phone so your cord would have to slide behind from the top. There is no back center jack. You would also have to use mounting hardware as this will not fit the older rectangles that phone companies used to install.

QuestionI need it just to fax. I don't have wall jack . I just plugged in the power pack to the wall. Can I do that with this phone?

- Answer I'm not sure if this phone will work for you. I don't think so, because you don't have a wall jack. This phone requires a wall jack and is very cheap.

QuestionIf I enter the code *66 after a busy signal will the phone keep redialing each time a call fails until I enter the code *86 to stop the continuous redial? My phone service is provided by Spectrum. Will that have any effect on your answer to my question?

- Answer No. However AT&T does make a similar phone with an answering machine CL4940. But, that one requires an AC power source.

- Answer Yes, I have mine hooked up to a conventional answering machine. Yes, the cords can be replaced. Yes, when the ringer is off - there is no sound from an incoming call. Hope this helps. It's been a very good phone!
