- Answer Yes. The phone base has an internal voicemail feature. Or you can turn it off and use your provider voicemail service.

- Answer Yes it does, the speaker in the handset can be used as a speaker phone. My parents (one wears hearing aids and the other should consider them!) use it this way a lot. The ringer is plenty loud even on the lowest setting. I don't believe there is a speaker phone built into the base station part, but I know the handset can be used as a speaker phone. Sound quality is better than the similar set up my parents had until the buttons wore out, so that one was prolly 10 years old.

QuestionNow we are having to dial the local area codes. I use the directory to make calls, too. But the directory software on my current AT&T phone won't let me add the local area code. Will this phone let me add the area code for local numbers to my directory?

QuestionThe overview shows a digital frequency. Does that mean it is a digital phone and not analog? Look at the back of the telephone. Does it say "complies with part 68, FCC Rules" and a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN)? If so, then the phone is analog.
