these are two different names for the same style of phone
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It looks like there is no difference. Based on my research, it looks like the flip phone was made in the clamshell design.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think the clamshell is the older one that slides open and reveals the keypad. The flip phone does just that, it flips open.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The flip or clamshell is a form factor of a mobile phone or other device which is in two or more sections that fold via a hinge. If the hinge is on a long edge the device is more likely to be called clamshell than flip phone (e.g., Nokia Communicators).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are very similar. Essentially they are the same thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.CLamshell: equal size on each side of hinge of the phone Flip: back side of phone larger than front side of hinge
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Clamshells normally have the full screen and ear speaker located in one part of the flip, and the keypad and mic in the other part, which is why they are generally very small. Flips normally have at most one part (typically either the ear speaker or the mic) located on the flip, if that, and otherwise just act to cover part of the phone.
