To use an AT&T branded phone on one of the MVNOs, you should search for the info at the website of the provider (look up PureTalk on Google). They usually have the info listed under phone requirements. It may say unlocked phones are required. A locked phone means it's locked to a pad service provider such as AT&T. Some MVNO providers let you use locked phones but it's not common. H20 used to allow locked AT&T phones on their network but to port a number in, you may need an unlocked AT&T phone. To unlock an AT&T prepaid phone, they usually have to be on the AT&T service for six months, then you request an unlock. Look up request unlock at AT&T website or on Google for info.
