A:Answer Because it is a fully manual turntable. Not everyone wants auto-return, or auto anything. You want either a semi-automatic, or a fully automatic turntable. A semi-automatic turntable will automatically return the tonearm at the end of play and stop spinning. You will still have to manually start the turntable however.
A fully automatic turntable will return and stop as well, and it will also start with the press of a button. It will start spinning, the arm will lift up off the tonearm rest, go over to the beginning of the record, then go down to the record and start playing it. We do manufacture some fully automatic models at this time. No semi-automatic models however. Consider the AT-LP60 Series or the AT-LP3 Fully Automatic Turntables instead.
