I had that issue first time I plugged it in. It is a directional cable. Specific end goes in TV and the other in the cable box. If not working try switching each end
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check the settings on your tv. Make sure to select the HDMI port you plugged the cable into. I have a Samsung 49" 4K UHD TV. I plug the cable into HDMI3 because it has "ARC" (AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL) which returns the sound to my amplifier. Also, the HDMI cable connector has a "directional" arrow on it. The arrow shows the direction the signal is traveling. (Out from cable box and IN to the tv. I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Most likely (and common) scenario is that you need to change the input source on both TV and cable box so that they're both on same input source (you may need to use TV remote to verify TV input, and cable remote to do same with cable DVF box). Each remote will have "Input" button to check/change the device's input setting. You may have cable box set to 'cable' and TV set to (other-the-air or antennae) 'TV'. Once both devices are set to 'cable' input, you should be good to go. 2. If still problem, double check that HDMI cable in connected to correct input on back of TV. Your TV likely has 2+ HDMI inputs (one for cable, one for DVD, gaming device, etc.). While these inputs should be visible when you check TV input settings in #2 above, you may have plugged cable into DVD or other non-TV input source. Cable box likely has only 2 HDMI ports/plugs -- one for cable in (coming from wall), and one for Out (to TV or central receiver). 3. If still not working, try using different HDMI cable. Your cable may be broken. If no extra cable, returN/replace HDMI.cable. Do not need to spend more for fancy cables. A standard $10-$20 cable will work just as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.sometimes connections are loose and will not seat properly. A/B with another connector to make sure the port is infact okay.
