• During an internet, or power, outage, you'd be able to use the lock via Bluetooth. Meaning, you can lock and unlock using your smartphone or Apple Watch within Bluetooth range (10 feet or so). You would not be able to use the Wi-Fi functionality during an internet or power outage. If you purchase the August Smart Keypad, that works with Bluetooth so it can always be used to unlock the door, even if power or internet is out.
