Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First off, because it was celebrity endorsed. Secondly, because it was bought by Apple. I recently bought a Pill 2.0 off someone for $20 cause I needed a speaker for working outside at my small business. The sound quality was lacking, so I hoped in the car and bought another speaker, a used D-King or something for $20 (one of the Chinese brands on Amazon). I had no idea the Pill 2.0 was expensive when new, and my wife and I and our part time employer all thought the no one speaker had better sound, so I gave the Pill away for free on Marketplace. As someone who has been in music producing I can assure everyone that Beats brand is all marketing, real DJs and producers would never use EQ'd headphones like this for working, but they are paid by Apple to rep Beats for massive payout. If you'd rather have that product gratification for a premium price, go for it, if you'd like quality than look something else that's cheaper
