This wireless router is suppose to work with other modems. Belkin is a good name and product. I was a Linksys user for many years but I have found that Belkin is just as good.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. This will connect to the PPPoE connection that CenturyLink uses, but you still need the C1000A. This is the same setup I have. The C1000A is set to Bridge mode, and the Belkin does the heavy work. There are other DSL Modems out there that could replace the C1000A, but you won't likely find one in a local store, and Century Link support is worthless for recommendations. There's only one good reason to do this, at least for me. The Actiontec C1000A overheats drastically, and by using another router to perform the PPPoE functions the Actiontec doesn't have to work as hard. I still have to keep a fan blowing constantly on the Actiontec, but my Internet is far more reliable now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your CenturyLink is a combined modem/router. The Belkin is simply a router. If you want to use the Belkin router you will need to purchase a separate modem to connect to the incoming cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My upgrade mattered since I recently upgrade my old modem to the new high speed one recommended by my subscriber COX. And I'm running multiple devices such as Roku 2 streaming videos, desktop and tablet. The result is more stronger coverage. I can see more bars on the laptop and our Sony blue ray DVD player with WIFI. The cost too is very reasonable. Go ahead and upgrade if you can. Regards, Josie P.S.
