• Hello Meg, Thank you for reaching out If your cooking something with moisture in it, than the air fryer heats up and causes the steam to escape. Ideally it would exit through the back but it would depend on where the food is placed and the settings. Its not uncommon to escape from the door as it would just exit from path of least resistance essentially.
