Therefore, it will work with an HDMI laptop outputting to a Mini-HDMI monitor. However, it is not bi-directional. It is designed for Mini DisplayPort to HDMI, not the other way around. To connect an HDMI laptop to a Mini-HDMI monitor, you would need a cable or adapter specifically designed for HDMI to Mini-HDMI conversion.
