Q: QuestionI had a remote star installed. The remote stopped working and was told I need a new remote. I do have total tech so why would the key fob not be covered? It shows it should on your website.

• A:Answer Hey Jv, I'm sorry to hear that, but the membership doesn't cover key fob replacement. Why? Because a key fob is considered a consumable item, just like batteries or tires. It's expected to wear out over time and need to be replaced. WHAT CAN YOU DO? Check your car's warranty to see if it covers key fob replacement. Contact the manufacturer of your remote start system to see if they sell replacement key fobs. You can also find replacement key fobs online or at some auto parts stores. Here's a tip: You can get a free installation of your new key fob, if you buy it from Best Buy with the membership. I hope this info helps!

• A:Answer Hey there, Yes, if you buy a Totaltech Membership today, Geek Squad techs can come and install the TV you bought a week ago, as well as any other old TVs in your house. The membership covers the installation of up to two TVs per year, regardless of when you bought them. So, even though you bought your TV a week ago, you're still eligible for free installation. To schedule a TV installation, simply contact Best Buy customer support or schedule it online. When you schedule the installation, be sure to have the following information ready: The size and weight of your TVs The type of wall that your TVs will be mounted on The desired location for the TV mounts Any special requirements you have A Geek Squad technician will come to your home or office to install the TV mounts and hang your TVs. • A:Answer I wish I could answer your question from personal experience. I can't. My experience is from a few years ago. However, when we had problems with one of my client's computers, the Geek Squad manager took the thing with no questions asked. His policy was 'your problem is my problem.' That's an amazing policy. This guy actually had his techs remove and replace the OS TWICE because of problems we had both times. Both times he did it with no questions asked and he had no problem doing it. Both times he could have said, "You broke it, you bought it" but no, he fixed whatever was wrong simply because we had purchased the right plans. I hope that fits your situation and I hope your store is run by people as generous as mine. As they always say, "Your mileage may vary."
