Geek Squad in store appointments have a 20 minute allotted timeframe. Typically for more complex issues they will need to check in the device to run full diagnostics and then repair what they find. These diagnostics can take several hours by themselves. If the issue is something that they can quickly see and repair, they may be able to do it within that 20 minute timeframe. For the issue you mentioned with your laptop not turning on, this would likely need to be checked in and possibly sent to our service center for complex hardware repairs depending on what they find.
