“I'm trying to justify why I'd buy this compared to the Wing Bikes Freedom X. The bird is double the price, a slower speed, only one gear, super weak lights and lacking the alarm system the wing has. is it a wing but much more expensive?”

Do not buy the bird. Nothing but problems from 2 bikes and Bird support never answers regardless of method of communication.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I completely agree with Hoffman. I have rented Wing bikes in NYC, and I own the Bird. Although single gear, the drive unit is superior, and the motor feels more powerful. But I would never pay full retail, I was able to buy mine at a steep discount on adorama. Considering I paid about half what a Wing bike costs, it was a no brainer!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Wing bike uses inferior components to Bird. The Carbon drive belt on the Bird by itself justifies the price difference. We rent Wing bikes in NYC, they are the common rental bike there. The Bird, which I own, is much more comfortable to ride and feels more solid. But I also bought my Bird with a huge discount, which ended up cheaper than the Wing, making the choice a no-brainer!
