A:Answer Actually, kind of. Once you pair your bike to your BIRD app as a 'Private Bird' (authentication took several hours before I could claim the bike initially) you have the ability to 'lock' the bike via software. Essentially, the lock feature puts the bike into a sleep/security mode when turned 'on'. If the bike is touched, moved, etc when in 'lock' mode, an alarm goes off, continually when moved, until the bike is 'unlocked' via the app. The bike would still be able to be ridden, but would certainly garner a LOT of unwanted attention. The 'lock' feature is purely software, not mechanical.
