• I use a spray bottle to spray the floor and then mop over it. The instructions mention using chemicals can pose an issue to the plastic and/or interior design.

• I have mixed 1/8 vinegar with water, I’ve done the same with Febreeze and water to clean my floors. I feel it would depend on the disinfectant and the ratio of water. The recommendation is to follow the manufacture’s instructions. I love this steam mop. It’s easy to use and inspires me to clean all the house floors. Adding a small amount of vinegar just makes everything feel cleaner.
