Can you use vinegar and water to clean as solution null

Do not put it in the machine, but yes you can squirt a solution on the floor and than mop it around to help clean

Directions say to use distilled or reverse osmosis water only. Anything else may cause a build up of residue in the pipes/tubes over time and eventually gum up the machine. The steam gets quite hot and I imagine it's hot enough to kill most germs you might be worried about.

Hi Sky, we do not recommend using anything in your steam mop except distilled water.
