No. It is not a shop vac. The water you put in comes out as steam. There is no dirty water or puddles of water to suck up. The steam cleans the floor, leaves it slightly damp and dries quickly.

However if you are really cleaning any level of a dirty floor AND are using only the scrubbing brush then you definitely will have a light covering of dirty water on the floor that you will have to clean up as you clean.
