• I wouldn't. Bissell has some wonderful carpet cleaners that are made for carpeting. Before I tore up all my carpeting and replaced with tile and hard wood, I had one and was really happy with the results. I suppose there's nothing wrong with using it on carpet, I just wouldn't expect great results.

• You can but need to use the carpet glidder, it costs about 10 bucks on the bissel website.
