Mine is probably moderate pile, and it worked better than I expected. That said, I think you can expect that the carpet will always be moist and need time to dry after a cleaning like this. I used 3 tanks of clean water, at 1 gallon/tank, and probably got about 1 gallon back as dirty water after doing an approx 12x17 room with a few extra square feet of closet and partially carpeted bathroom. The carpet felt moist, but not sopping, to sock feet immediately after cleaning. In about 4 hours, it felt more dry than I expected. By the next morning (another 8 hours), it was dry. I think it's OK for higher pile, don't know about shag. And I'm sure you'd get faster and better drying with fans, fresh air, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will easily work on shag carpet I do not recommend doing it a lot but once every six months to a year or you could just because shag carpet keeps the moisture so you need to run over it a couple times with out putting water down but it does a very good job on my shag carpet which is a medium height
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have somewhat shag carpet in our bedroom and it worked great. I think anytime you use a carpet cleaner it’s going to be common for it to be relatively damp. I did it on a sunny day and opened the curtains to let in the light and turned a fan on. It took probably a full 12-16 hours for the carpet to be 100% dry.
